Synopsis
In a barren future, Lily, a solitary 50-year-old woman, ekes out a bleak existence in a sterilized underground bunker furnished like a spaceship. Her routine includes daily ventures into the harsh, sun-scorched wasteland to gather food—giant cockroaches—her only nourishment, which she attracts with makeshift musical performances.
Despite the isolation, Lily finds comfort in a handmade doll, her sole companion in the desolate world. Her life takes a turn when she discovers another survivor, who captivates the cockroaches with a well-equipped setup and a melodious voice. This revelation stirs feelings of jealousy and insecurity in Lily, challenging her sense of solitude and self-worth.
Confronting the limits of her isolation, Lily must navigate her complex emotions and redefine the symbols of humanity and companionship in her life. Through unexpected encounters, she learns to cope with the loneliness and hopes to find meaning in her monotonous existence.
