DOCK

Documentary Film Festival

Synopsis

In recent years, the interest in historical cinema has become a significant trend in contemporary documentary filmmaking. Reflecting this global movement, the DOCK festival was launched in 2018 as a major forum for international historical documentary cinema. Originally held in Bourgas, Bulgaria, the festival now tours other cities, aiming to become a cornerstone cultural event by providing free public access to all screenings and hosting global producers, directors, and screenwriters.

DOCK features an official competitive program showcasing ten films, evaluated by a highly qualified international jury. Alongside this, a parallel program offers a variety of open lectures, round table discussions, talks, and educational programs. These initiatives provide additional platforms to explore world history in engaging and memorable ways, contributing significantly to the festival’s cultural and educational impact.

The mission of DOCK is to enrich cultural landscapes by delving into world history through captivating documentary cinema. By offering diverse programming and fostering international collaboration, DOCK aims to celebrate the art of storytelling and historical exploration, becoming a valuable event wherever it goes.
