Celebrating Antarctica Day with first closed screening of “Lame Dog of Antarctica”

On 1 December, the world marks the signing of the Antarctic Treaty (1959)—an international agreement that turns the continent into a place of science, peace, and cooperation. This year the celebration was even more special for us, because we held a closed first screening of our animated film “The Lame Dog of Antarctica,” and the audience welcomed it with tremendous enthusiasm!

Shooting Wraps for “The Lame Dog Of Antarctica”

We’ve completed production on “The Lame Dog of Antarctica,” an inspiring animated short film that explores the journey of the first explorers on the Ice Continent, highlighting Bulgaria’s role through Prof. Hristo Pimpirev. Designed for children aged 7 to 11, the film is now entering its final post-production phase and will debut at international festivals this summer!

Lights, Camera, Antarctica – “The Lame Dog of Antarctica” Begins Production

Today marked the official start of filming for the first Bulgarian animated film with documentary elements about Antarctica. “The Lame Dog of Antarctica” will showcase the journey of Antarctic expeditions from Amundsen-Scott to the Bulgarian contribution to the research of the Ice Continent. The film team is led by director Stefan Voyvodov, produced by Dekidis Films, and is being realized with the financial support of the National Film Center and the kind support of Business Park Sofia.
